St. Petersburg is the second largest city in Russia after Moscow with 4.6 million citizens, and Europe's largest city after Istanbul, London and Moscow. St. Petersburg is Europe's major cultural centre, and an important Russian port on the Baltic Sea. It welcomes thousands of tourists annually. You will see Saint Petersburg most famous places of interest - St. Isaac's Cathedral, Palace Square, the Peter & Paul Fort and the Cathedral - where Romanovs' dynasty was buried. Every tourist to the city should visit the Hermitage Museum. Now, the Hermitage Museum has approximately 2.7 million museum exhibits and displays a full range of world art. It contains works by Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Titian, unique collections of Rembrandt, Rubens, French Impressionists. The collection is immense and very exciting. It has been calculated that if you decide to spend a minute in front of each museum exhibit, you will stay in the Hermitage for 11 years, but on the guided tour you have the chance to see all the great masterpieces of the world's art in several hours, being guided by a knowledgeable guide.
